“Planting AI ”in the Mountains: China Telecom Lights Up Digital Classrooms for Rural Children

Recently, the AI summer care class in Sanjing Village, Wuwu Town, Jinchengjiang District, Hechi City, Guangxi, has come into the public eye.

The AI classroom in Sanjing Village was completed in October 2025. China Telecom Hechi Branch "planted" 15 Tianyi cloud computers into this small mountain village classroom. The staff ensured smooth and stable operation of the equipment by providing a high-speed and stable network environment, carrying out equipment backups and 7×24-hour quality monitoring, and installing an AI interactive teaching system.

After the equipment was put into use, staff also conducted regular digital training sessions for villagers, teachers, and students, teaching them hands-on how to make good use of digital tools.

Now, returning young teachers and college student volunteers have set up summer care classes relying on the AI classroom. With the help of the Tianyi cloud computers, the children independently program and design learning games, engaging with artificial intelligence through fun, hands-on practice—filling the educational gap in rural areas during the summer vacation.

"Planting AI" in the mountains is not easy, but it is by no means impossible. China Telecom plans to replicate and expand the Sanjing Village model, bringing stable networks, affordable digital products, and long-term maintenance services to more rural areas. With the power of digital intelligence, the company aims to continuously narrow the urban-rural digital divide and let the light of the digital age reach even the most remote corners of the countryside.
